Vita Dulcedo Spes Grotto (Life Sweetness Hope Grotto’s)

It’s so special when I’m given a small piece of the 125 year old spalted maple tree that grew near the grotto. Sometimes it sits on my studio shelf for months, waiting for me to turn it into art. Not so with this section that clearly suggested the shape of the grotto, including the natural cavity in the wood.
