Acrylic paint on Purple heartwood from Brazil, one of the strongest in the world, were used in places of worship for decades. They are being carefully salvaged by the Innovation Lab at Notre Dame, to be repurposed into art by Kathleen Keifer. This painting is on wood milled from a bench that was in front of the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes on the campus of the University of Notre Dame.
