Looking down on the Gold Coast of Santa Monica from Palisades Park with the warm sun casting long shadows on my sketchbook as well.
Palos Verdes and the South Bay sit on the horizon, and the Santa Monica pier is the center of my painting, and the Jonathan club is in the foreground. I'm always happiest sketching in late afternoon light, but thinking of all the golden memories I have in all of the places I'm painting makes this an extraordinary moment.
